#Education4Earth COP28 Call to the Governments

We, the undersigned organizations, are united for COP28 as the #Education4Earth
movement, representing global youth and climate education activists from all around the
world.

We are calling on world governments and international agencies to fulfill the
following demands in 2024 and 2025.

  1. We are calling on governments to take the following actions by the end of
2025: (1) integrate formal climate change education nationally, in all K-12
curricula, (2) embed a commitment to climate change education in their
NDCs, and (3) allocate finances in national budgets to implement climate
    change education into school systems.
  2. We are calling on governments and international agencies to finance and
commit to integrate formal climate change education in the strategies and
policies of the G7, G20, European Union, United Nations, Global
Environmental Facility, International Union for Conservation of Nature,
Green Climate Fund and World Economic Forum, in 2024.
  3. We are calling on governments to finance teacher training for climate
change education and to incorporate the demands and perspectives of
teachers' unions into the policies for integrating formal climate change
    education into the curriculum.
  4. We are calling on governments to support youth empowerment and green
scholarships. Additionally, we urge them to finance the development of
green jobs and skills resulting from effective formal climate change
education, as these are fundamental for building a prosperous green
    economy of the future.
  5. We are inviting governments and international organizations to meet with
the youth delegation of the #Education4Earth at COP28 to further discuss
the implementation of the above demands.
