HIT LIST April 7th - May 10th

Find Nature in Art 2 miles north of the ancient cathedral city of Gloucester on the main A38. Entry fee includes whole museum. Exhibition open Tuesday to Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm. Closed Mondays. (Concession entry £5.00, under 8's Free, Family (2+2) £16.00)

See exhibits throughout the Nature in Art Museum exploring the theme of extinction. With a gallery of works by Tom Van Herrewege reminding us of the diversity being lost, go on to see other paintings, drawings and sculpture from around the world depicting or relating to species that already are, or one day, may not be with us anymore. Some are from Nature in Art's own collection, others have been loaned especially for this display. From Alexander Wilson's (1766-1813) image of a Passenger Pigeon (extinct by 1901) to Grant Hacking's painting of Cheetahs (listed on IUCN's Red List as vulnerable, with only 7000 left in the wild in 2016); Martin Hayward-Harris's sculpture of a Siberian tiger skull (threatened today with extinction) to Gary Hodge's drawing 'Vanishing' of the critically endangered Scimitar-horned Oryx and Chris Manley's sculpture of a Great auk (extinct by 1844); they all are reminders of the threats wildlife faces every day. As well as the exhibits, see artists at work every day.
